Join Democrats Abroad Germany for this special event with international financial and investment expert Robert Levitt who is also Deputy Chair of DA’s Taxation Task Force. Robert will discuss the basics of German investment taxation and regulation and how they apply to Americans living in Germany, and answer your questions. Issues to be discussed include:

*  What you can and cannot do with investments in Germany.

*  Types of accounts you can have, individual, retirement

*  How do you open a brokerage account if you are a US person living in Germany?

*  Do you need to keep a US address and phone number?

*  What is the difference between a German bank or brokerage firm versus an American one.

*  What are the concerns with investment in European packaged products (PFIC)

*  What are the concerns with investment in US investment products, such as ETFs (Mifid II)

*  Does Germany have different savings programs?

The aim of this event is to educate and inform about basic questions regarding German investment options and answer as many questions as possible. 

Speaker: 

Robert Levitt, CFA, is an international financial and investment expert with Levitt Capital Management, as well as the Deputy Chair of DA’s Taxation Task Force.

Participation fee: $15 to attend the live session; $7.50 for students/unemployed/retired individuals. 100% of proceeds will go to helping Democrats Abroad Germany get out the vote in 2024. For those unable to attend the session, you have the option to purchase an on-demand ticket to view the recording after the event takes place ($10).
