DAGR KAFENEION: Book Discussion
RSVP“In Our Prime: How Older Women are Reinventing the Road Ahead”
A group reading and discussion of Susan J. Douglas’ thoroughly considered view of the 50+ stereotypes in our society.
In a deep examination of ageism, baby-boomer feminism, the media, and the political and economic structures that continue to dictate the false narratives of middle-age women, the author puts forth an urgent case for a stereotype-defying activism of “Lifespan Feminism”: a bridge between young women and “fuddy-duddy” second-wave feminists to harness momentum for a brighter future.
Come, one! Come, all! Harness that future!
These discussions concern women and men and a balanced discussion is our goal.
Hosted by DAGR Reps-at-Large Sarajane Kidd Leone and Rebecca Lieb.
Born from a DAGR Women’s Caucus post by Charity Moschopoulos noting the recent publication.
