Media Coordinator, Zürich Chapter

After growing up in rural Minnesota, I lived in Sweden, India, China and finally ended up here in Zürich, which I have made my home, and where I now work in the fair trade field and am studying to become an art therapist. Though I haven't lived in the US for many years, I care deeply about the political outcomes that determine the life conditions of hundreds of millions of people there.

I feel strongly that every person deserves autonomy, respect and joy, including more concretely access to healthcare, housing, education, and more. Everyone deserves this regardless of their nationality or origin, gender or sexual identity, race, age, religion or ability.

I believe that we need to support those around us through direct community action, but change on a macro scale is also necessary. As the two-party system offers me limited options in terms of political action, I am trying to make a small impact in the ways I can through the DA here in Zürich, which feels important to me during this particularly bleak and dangerous time in American politics.
