The announcement by President Joe Biden that he would withdraw his candidacy, and the wave of enthusiasm for the candidacy of Vice President Kamala Harris, have been historic and unprecedented experiences for all of us. Around the world, there are many stories to tell about how we absorbed the news of the day. Our chapter received more press inquiries in one day than we've had in years. Within two days, Democrats in our region could be seen and heard on five different news media.
Our chapter communications coordinator Candice Newton sat down for a filmed interview with NDR Info that was broadcast one day after President Biden's announcement. Among other things she spoke of Kamala Harris' strengths and preparedness for the campaign.
Not to be stopped, Candice had a longer conversation for a Deutschlandfunk Nova podcast, now archived at the ARD Audiothek. Subjects ranged from her first reaction to the news, to Kamala Harris' strengths as a campaigner, to the nomination procedure at the Democratic National Convention (DNC), and to the fate of our Biden-Harris merch.
Members of the Bremen precinct also met with two different media on one day. The Weser Kurier published an article about their reactions to the news, with very informative background about the DNC, our concerns about Project 2025, and the work of Democrats Abroad.
Bremen precinct members also appeared briefly in a segment by buten un binnen, a regional broadcast by Radio Bremen, that was also on the air the day after President Biden's announcement. Look for them at about 12:00.

And early morning commuters in Lower Saxony got to hear from our member Vinnie Cabrera speaking on the radio with Antenne Niedersachsen, but unfortunately we don't have a link.
Of course it was a day of extraordinary developments with great media interest. But as we head toward Election Day in 100 days, look for more Democrats on the air and in print.
