Notice for Country Lead Straw Poll
The Organizing Committee of Democrats Abroad in Croatia invites members to participate in Straw Poll endorsing their Country Lead for 2025-2026. The election will take place on Monday, March 11th at 8pm Zagreb Time. The meeting shall take place on Zoom.

Background
Democrats Abroad members in Croatia worked together in 2024 to organize the membership community in order to build a future committee. In order to continue this effort of community and party building, and maintain bridge between the membership and the global party, a Country Lead was appointed to work with the DA Non-Country Committee Voting Representative in 2024. Together, the Democrats Abroad Croatia Community held events in Split and Zagreb, coordinated Get Out the Vote and connected members across the country.
What does a Country Lead do?
The Country Lead works with the DA Voting Representative without an Official Country Committee to support community building and help Americans vote from Croatia. They
- Support members in organizing local meetings and events,
- Share information and opportunities to participate in Democrats Abroad with members
- Provide and encourage voter assistance among members to get ballots back to the states during election.
How the Endorsement Process will be conducted?
The nominating period will run from February 25th to 11:59pm CET, March 4th.
Members may nominate or self-nominate themselves to run for the position. If you would like to nominate a member or self -nominate, please fill out the nomination form here
A Ballot will be sent to all members starting on March 6th and available until 11:59pm CET, March 10th. Any member attends the meeting and has not voted yet will have an opportunity to vote during the meeting.
At the conclusion of voting, the Non-Country Committee Representative will appoint that member to the position.
