Vigil honouring Renee Nicole Good and other victims of ICE 🕯️

In response to the recent shooting in Minneapolis that took the life of Renee Good, and in remembrance of other individuals killed by ICE while exercising their civil right to protest, Democrats Abroad Strasbourg will be holding a quiet, peaceful community vigil this Sunday.

We will gather to share a moment of remembrance and solidarity. Those who wish are welcome to bring signs and/or candles.

Please note that temperatures are expected to be cold (around -1 °C), so we encourage you to dress warmly and wear layers.

Before the vigil, anyone who would like meet in a supportive, informal setting is welcome to join us for optional drinks/snacks at nearby Café Brant at 17:00. Given that this is a midterm year, now is a meaningful time to consider your voting plan and ask any questions that you have related to voting from abroad, which, despite threats to it, is the most important tool we have in our resistance toolkit.

We hope you’ll join us to commemorate the loss of our fellow Americans and to find strength in coming together.
