On June 18, Democrats Abroad's LGBTQ+ Caucus and the Wisconsin state team celebrated a very special Pride Month event featuring U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin. As the first openly LGBTQ+ woman elected to both the House of Representatives and the Senate, Senator Baldwin has been a progressive voice and steadfast advocate for equality and human rights. She was the principal sponsor of the Respect for Marriage Act and is one of the key sponsors of the Equality Act.
This was our fourth consecutive year hosting Senator Baldwin for Pride month. It was an excellent opportunity for us to come together in celebration and to focus on critical issues at stake in the upcoming elections and the role they play in the 2024 political landscape.
