"Americanah" won the National Book Critics Circle Award for fiction in 2013. Americanah recounts the story of a young Nigerian woman, Ifemelu, who emigrates to the United States to attend university. The novel traces Ifemelu's life in both countries, her "Americanization", her thoughts about race, identity and identity politics, and much more! Bring a snack to share if you can.
