The first annual Democrats Abroad Day will take place this Saturday, September 8, and you're invited! Join our global celebration to show off your Democrats Abroad pride, wherever you are.

To celebrate with as many of you as possible, and to tell the world that we represent the 9 million Americans overseas who are engaged and VOTE, we’re asking you to join our virtual party, too.

If your local chapter is hosting an event, we hope you’ll attend. And to show off your Democrats Abroad pride and enter to win new Democrats Abroad gear, post your pic in celebration of Democrats Abroad Day on social media! We’ll award Democrats Abroad prizes to the members with the most liked and shared #DemsAbroadDay posts by Sunday evening (PST), and award a few other lucky participants with swag, too.

How does it work?

1. Take a pic with your favorite Democrats Abroad buttons, t-shirts, signs, etc
   No Democrats Abroad swag on hand? Snap a pic in your best red white and blues instead!
   
2. Post your pic on social media using the hashtag #DemsAbroadDay
3. CAPTION your photo explaining why you are celebrating Democrats Abroad Day: Your favorite thing about Democrat Abroad, why (and how) you donate your time for our cause, etc.
4. Make your post public so we can find it. Here’s how to do this on Facebook without impacting other privacy settings.
5. Encourage your friends to like and share your post to improve your chances of winning Democrats Abroad Day prizes!
   
   

Add a Democrats Abroad frame to your Facebook pic

1. Go to www.facebook.com/profilepicframes and search “Democrats Abroad.”
2. Select one of the Democrats Abroad frames, adjust your pic as you’d like, and select “use as profile picture” at the bottom of the page.

1. We’ll be sharing posts from members throughout the day on Sept 8th, so be sure you’re following along, especially on Facebook and Twitter.
2. Help us spread the FACTS about how Democrats who live abroad can and must VOTE. Sample social posts about the FACTS of voting from abroad can be found here. 
3. Make Democrats Abroad Day THE day you commit to helping us reach our members, through phonebanking or donations that will be used directly to help us turn out the vote abroad!

Prize details: Democrats Abroad members must make public posts to Facebook, Twitter or Instagram between Friday Sept 7 and Sunday Sept 9 using the hashtag #DemsAbroadDay to be considered eligible. Each 75th member post will result in a prize of Democrats Abroad gear, as will the top two most favorited/liked/shared/retweeted posts as of the evening (PST) of Sunday, Sept 8. Limit one prize per member. By participating, members agree to Democrats Abroad using their images on democratsabroad.org, social media, and elsewhere as appropriate.
