Join us for the first meeting of the new Democrats Abroad Leipzig-Halle book club!
Our meeting will be on March 14 from 18:30 to 20:00 at Goldhopfen Craft Beer Bar in Leipzig. We will be discussing the classic fiction novel "The Handmaid's Tale" by Margaret Atwood.
If you've always wanted to read the book but never got around to it, only watched the Netflix series, or already read the book and want to discuss it with like-minded peers, now is your chance! If "The Handmaid's Tale" is a hit, we can read the recently published sequel ("The Testaments") next!
Feel free to bring book ideas or suggestions/concerns.

Join us for a lunch time talk as we hear from Sebastiaan Vonk, the person behind "the Faces of Margraten" project. Margraten is the site of the Netherlands-American Cemetery, the final resting place for 8,301 American heroes who fought to liberate Europe. Sebastiaan's project involves collecting photos of those buried there, to put faces to the names. He will also speak on the little known black soldiers buried there. Their stories are now uncovered through the Black Liberators in the Netherlands project. Please RSVP to confirm your attendance.
