Meet Red Wine & Blue with Caribbean Islands on August 19th!

Join DA Caribbean Islands online on Wednesday, August 19^th, as our monthly meeting welcomes special guest speaker Missy McGinnes of Red Wine and Blue.

Red Wine and Blue (https://redwine.blue) is a US national community of over half a million diverse suburban women working together to defeat extremism, one friend at a time. Red Wine and Blue trains and connects women from across the country of all political backgrounds – including many who have never been political before – “to get sh*t done and have fun along the way”.

We’ll hear from Missy McGinnes, Director of Distributed Organizing, who is an Ohio-based organizer and suburban mom who has been mobilizing her community since 2017.

Missy will share with us some of the history of why and how Red Wine and Blue came to be, what they do, how they have organized and what strategies they've found most helpful in energizing and motivating people to get out and vote.

At RWB, Missy leads the Red Wine & Blue Network, a national network of 700+ volunteer-led grassroots groups dedicated to building community and making a difference locally. She is passionate about the work of RWB, especially protecting democracy and LGBTQ+ rights.

We look forward to learning from Missy’s experience as DA Caribbean Islands works toward November’s elections.
