CHANGE OF VENUE! PLEASE RSVP TO GET THE ADDRESS (auto response)
This Solidarity Sunday meet-up is designed to help us navigate the full landscape of the U.S. midterm elections: from the federal halls of Congress down to your county courthouse. The first half of our meeting will break down how midterm elections work: what offices are on the ballot, how federal, state, and local governments each play distinct roles in administering elections, and key timelines and deadlines. We will then shift our focus to action and participation.
We will walk through the steps every eligible citizen must take to participate: Registering or updating your registration, understanding your state's rules, and how the Federal Post Card Application (FPCA) and Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act (UOCAVA) give Americans living abroad the right to register and request an absentee ballot through their last U.S. state of residence.
We will then explore what actions we as U.S. citizens living in Austria can take to strengthen democratic participation – and brainstorm additional actions we can take to get out the vote in 2026!
