DAGR Kafeneion: Pride Month and 40 years of HIV/AIDS
RSVPTo commemorate Pride Month and 40 years of HIV/AIDS, DAGR's next Kafeneion online discussion will feature two very distinguished guests:
Andrea Gilbert, a native Brooklynite who has been organizing Athens Pride since its inception in 2005, is the spokesperson for the Athens Pride Society. Andrea will discuss social issues around marriage equality and transgender rights in Greece, as well as in the US and EU. | Dr. Ioannis Hodges-Mameletzis is an infectious disease epidemiologist at WHO, specializing in pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) for HIV. He currently supports countries in implementation of PrEP services. In 2020, he was on emergency assignment for WHO in Greece to support the COVID-19 response and efforts on contact tracing and testing. Yannis is also an advocate for sexual and reproductive health rights for key populations, particularly LGBTQi+. |
At-large executive committee members Rebecca Lieb and Sarajane Kidd Leone will moderate the discussion. Please come prepared to discuss your questions and ideas about social and health issues as they pertain to the LGBTQi+ community, in Greece and around the world.
