Trump seeks to dismantle Arctic research (ARCUS)
Formed in 1988, ARCUS has coordinated Arctic research ever since. Seats at the table were added for indigenous stakeholders and others in the effort. Last month, ARCUS, its funding cut off, had to close its doors. The mayoral race on Oct 8 in Fairbanks went to a Dem for the first time in over a decade. Trump’s war against science and quid pro quo with fossil fuel $$ may already have shown the ill effects in the HQ’s home city.
