Vote for Adelita Grijalva for AZ-07 US House
This article is limited in scope, directed at any of our DAGR members who vote in the AZ-07 congressional district. (If you don’t know your CD, go to this link, type in your home state voting address and see what comes up!)
That said, this fall, there’s a Special Election in AZ-07 for the person who’ll represent the 07 in the US House. Adelita Grijalva, the daughter of the much-respected late Representative Raul Grijalva, just won the Dem Primary. See more about her on Wikipedia, and then check out her campaign site etc.
If you’re unsure about your voting rights and how to go about it, Vote From Abroad dot Org has it all. Checking your State Voting Information, you’ll find a lot of useful info.
They’ll tell you AZ voters …
- How to Send Registration: by Email, Fax or Postal Mail.
- How to Send Ballot Request: by Email or Fax or Mail
- How to Send Ballot Return: by Email or Fax or Mail or Online Upload (Overseas voters must receive prior authorization from their local election official in Arizona to return their ballot by online upload)
Fortunately, the House seat Grijalva is running for is a ‘federal’ election. Fed elections are President, Senate, and House. And all of us abroad can vote in those. (Trump hasn’t ripped that right from us. Yet.)
The rest of the races are ‘state or local,’ i.e. down ballot. You do NOT have to worry about that in this race. Save that quandry for the 2026 Midterms. We’ll remind you again and drill down on the specifics.
For now, what you need to know is, the deadlines for all three actions:
- Register
- Request ballot
- Return ballot by
Are the same: September 23, 2025.
REPEAT … Deadline for ALL THREE hassles, that is Registration, Request Ballot and Return Ballot By, is:
7 p.m. SEP 23
We suggest you don’t wait till the last minute. Register and request your ballot now. Ask them to send it by EMAIL. Ballots will come out 45 days before the election and you can slam your vote right back!
