New Yorkers Abroad in 2026
Hey New Yorkers abroad — your vote matters.
Your participation helps shape elections across the Empire State in 2026 statewide and federal races.
🗓️ Primary Election: June 23, 2026
🗓️ General Election: November 3, 2026
🌍 Voting from Abroad as a New Yorker
If you are a U.S. citizen living abroad and your last residence (or your U.S. parent's last residence) was in New York:
- If you intend to return, you are eligible to vote in federal, state, and local elections. (You don't need to have a set date, just a current intention to return sometime in the future.)
- If your intent to return is uncertain, you are eligible to vote in federal elections only (President, U.S. Senate, U.S. House).
✅ Improvements Are Coming for Overseas Voters
We’re continuing to work on improving and expanding access to voting from abroad so every eligible New Yorker can participate — no matter where in the world they live.
📨 Request Your Ballot Each Year
Overseas voters should submit a 2026 Federal Post Card Application (FPCA) to receive absentee ballots.
Use VoteFromAbroad.org:
- Select New York
- Enter your last New York address
- Choose how you want to receive your ballot
Submitting your FPCA now ensures you’re ready for both the June primary and the November general election.
