NO TYRANTS Mass Protest in Ottawa: June 14
Join Democrats Abroad (the Canada's Capital Region chapter), Indivisible Ottawa, concerned Canadians, and allies around the world on June 14th, 2025, as we stand up for democracy as part of the join the global No Kings/No Tyrants protest movement!
The Trump administration will be throwing a military parade (estimated at $90 million) for Donald Trump's birthday. In protest, Democrats around the world are gathering to demonstrate what we believe in: that democracy matters and the United States does not belong to a wannabe king. On June 14, we're showing up everywhere Donald Trump isn't--to say no to tyrants, no to dictators, no to oligarchs, and no to autocrats.
Bring your signs, your friends, and your energy as we stand united! As Langston Hughes said in his poem "Let America be America again":
A few notes: We've changed the "No Kings" theme of other events around the world to "No Tyrants," so as not to mix messages in a country with a monarchy. We're also swapping out "No Crowns!" in favour of "No Clowns!" Come dressed as a Tr*mp clown--DT himself, or one of his cronies. Think bad blonde wig, orange face, long red tie, or whatever gets your creative juices flowing!
A core principle behind all No Kings/No Tyrants events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We ask all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.
Lastly, note that as members of DA, we are restricted from commenting on international affairs, so if you plan to be visibly identifiable as a member of Democrats Abroad, we encourage you to bring a sign that focuses on what we stand for, such as democracy, human rights, and the rule of law.
