Calling all US Citizens! Your Vote Matters!
If you're a US citizen who lives outside the US, you have the right to vote in US elections. It doesn’t matter if you're not currently registered to vote in the US, have never voted in the US, have been outside the US for a very long time or never lived in the US!
All overseas voters are eligible to vote in federal elections, that is, for President, US Senate, and US House of Representatives. Federal elections take place every two (2) years. Overseas voters may vote in federal primary elections as well as the general election and in any special federal elections that may be required outside of the regularly scheduled elections.
The upcoming midterm elections are especially critical. Control of Congress will determine whether democratic institutions are protected, voting rights are strengthened or weakened, and whether there are meaningful checks and balances on power. For Americans living abroad, your voice is just as important as those back home—these elections will shape the future of the country and its role in the world. At a moment when democratic norms are being tested, participating in these elections is one of the most direct and powerful ways you can help safeguard American democracy.
