Notice of Annual General Meeting (AGM) 2025

 

The Democrats Abroad Hamilton-Burlington Chapter will hold its AGM on Saturday, May 10 at 11:30 AM EDT at Industria Pizza + Bar, 1791 Stone Church Road East, Stoney Creek, Ontario L8J 0B4.

 

The AGM will highlight the activities of the chapter for the previous year and elect the Hamilton-Burlington Chapter Board for the coming 2025-2027 term.

 

A call for nominations to fill 8 positions on the Board went out on March 24, 2025 with a closing date of April 7, 2025.  As of the closing date for nominations, only 3 were received with one each for Chair, Treasurer, and Secretary. In accordance with Chapter Bylaws, with no contest for these positions, the candidates for these positions will be affirmed by acclimation at the AGM and immediately assume office. Nominations to fill the remaining board openings will be accepted from the floor and voted on at the AGM.

Judith Wanner, Chair

Constance Jain, Treasurer

Debra Krar, Secretary

 

Board openings remaining are:

 

Vice Chair, Membership Secretary, and Member at Large (3 positions)

 

Arguably the future of our Democracy is at stake, and in our lifetime it has never been more important for citizens to engage in the democratic process. We need people to step up. Please attend the AGM and consider serving in one of the open Board capacities.
