Lights for Liberty in Ottawa
RSVPPlease join with Democrats Abroad as we come together on July 12 in support of the vigils being held around the world and here in Ottawa organized by Lights for Liberty.
Democrats Abroad Canada - National Capital Region Chapter Leadership will not be present at this event.
Lights for Liberty aims to shed light on what is happening across the U.S and at its southern border: undocumented immigrants and asylum seekers being held in detention centres, facing inhumane conditions and continuing to be separated from their families.
On Friday, mass gatherings will take place at detention centres and in local communities around the world.
The Ottawa gathering will be at the Canadian Tribute to Human Rights on Elgin Street.
There will be Speakers from Lights of Liberty starting at 7 PM. And then the vigil is at 9 PM.
Bring a candle! [Please bring extra candles if you can]. More details on the Ottawa event are at: https://www.facebook.com/events/2358694901121343/
YOU can also join Democrats Abroad's online vigil to stand with detainees, asylum seekers, and immigrant families. Take a picture of yourself to be a part of a giant collage of Americans from all over the world.
