Come Join Us for Our Next TACO Tuesday On August 4

Come join us at the upcoming No Tyrants Tuesday at the King Arthur Pub on August 4. We'll discuss the results of the recent primaries, share information that we are receiving from home, and support one another in these tumultuous times. We'll also talk about serious issues that we are keeping our eye on and the stirrings of positive energy that give us Hope.

First and foremost, though: Protect your vote Now!   Register to Vote as an overseas voter.

We are keeping our eyes on:

• The war in Iran: the growing human toll. Do we really know the number of casualties given the shameful ‘adjustment’ of casualty figures posted on the Pentagon’s website.  
• Trump asks Supreme Court to validate his executive order requiring states to submit lists of eligible mail voters to the US Postal Service, which would be barred from sending ballots to anyone not on those lists.
• AI / Competition from China: IMF is cites the tech bubble as a significant risk to financial stability. Could the bubble explode? 
• We still want to know where are the Epstein files????

But we are seeing signs of Hope:

• The independent press and some legacy press are standing up to Trump and becoming increasingly outspoken. The First Amendment is still alive. 
• President Trump’s Approval Rating: the average of polls conducted by dozens of different organizations since Inauguration Day shows 59% Disapprove – 38% Approve.
• Scotus blog: Trump administration appears not to have asked Supreme Court to rehear birthright citizenship case

• Federal judges are calling out Department of Justice lawyers, questioning in unprecedented ways whether they can be trusted to tell the truth or uphold centuries-old legal norms.

We'll discuss what we can do between now and the election so that in November we can say: "We had the best chance in 30 or 40 years, we took it, and we won"!
