TRUMP  ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT

At the time of writing on Sunday, July 14, the facts are still incomplete.

  • We know that Donald Trump was rushed off stage during an election rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on Saturday, July 07, after an assassination attempt. He suffered minor injuries as the bullet grazed his ear and was quickly released from the hospital, but one rally attendee was killed and two more were injured. The gunman, who was on the roof of a nearby building, was immediately killed by the Secret Service.
  • The shooter was identified as a 20-year-old Pennsylvania resident and registered  Republican named Thomas Matthew Crooks. The Federal campaign finance records showed he donated $15 in January 2021 to the Progressive Turnout Project through the Democratic donation platform ActBlue.
  • President Biden, Vice President Harris, and numerous Congressional leaders condemned the assassination attempt. However, in the aftermath, numerous GOP lawmakers pushed false conspiracies and blamed President Biden for the shooting at the rally.

The Republican Convention starts this week. How will this incident affect the election? Stay tuned...and bring your information to our discussion on Friday.

PRESIDENT BIDEN DEBATE AND SPEECHES

  • President Joe Biden gave a feeble performance in the June 27 debate against Donald Trump. That sent Biden's campaign into crisis, with dozens of Congressional Democrats calling for the President to step down. Trump was calculated to tell a lie roughly one time per minute of the debate.
  • President Biden then hosted the NATO Summit, meeting with NATO numerous world leaders., Aand afterwards he held a lengthy news conference in which he displayed a detailed command of the facts of the international situation.
  • A defiant, forceful and energetic Joe Biden spoke before a lively group of supporters at a packed boisterous rally in Detroit, who greeted him with chants of "Don't you quit," he reaffirmed he's not dropping out of the 2024 race. Subsequent polling confirmed that the President had surged back ahead of Trump by several points.
