August Get-Together – August 22 – canceled
We gathered beneath a majestic 300-year-old linden tree, its branches spanning a cool 15-meter radius—our natural shelter from the summer heat. With cold glasses of beer brewed from recipes as old as the tree itself, as well as non-alcoholic beverages, we enjoyed shade, conversation, and camaraderie at the Riegele Biergarten in Augsburg.
Together, we spoke about ways to breathe life back into democracy—an exchange as refreshing as the breeze beneath those long seasoned leaves.
Thank you to everyone who joined us, both from Augsburg and from Munich. We look forward to more of these gatherings in Augsburg in the near future.
August Get-Together – August 22 – canceled
We thought this get-together would be a breeze – but then the calendar had other plans.
First, the 15th is a holiday here in Bavaria. Then, from the 22nd on, the Zunfthaus takes its well-earned vacation. The following Saturday, we’ll be celebrating Labor Day (see below for further details.)
So, we decided it’s the perfect moment for a short break from the regular Get-Togethers.
Enjoy the holidays, recharge, and we’ll see you back—ready and strong—for Labor Day!
US Labor Day Meet-Up – August 30
Celebrate the end of summer with fellow Americans and friends at our Labor Day gathering!
Grab a cold beverage, enjoy the late summer vibes, and connect before fall kicks in. All are welcome – bring friends!

Bring your ideas on how we can rebuild this democracy.
We’ve seen encouraging signs—like in Texas, where Trump’s gerrymandering efforts are being foiled, don’t underestimate a Texan. Let’s hope more states follow suit and become heroes in the fight to protect our democratic values.

Munich City Tour before Oktoberfest
Will you be in Munich for our Oktoberfest weekend? Or, will you not be joining us on Saturday, but are free on Friday afternoon?
Join us for a walking tour of Old-Town Munich! Our very own DA Germany member has offered to organize a 90 minute tour of the historical highlights of Old Town Munich. In case of rain, an indoor option will be offered.
The tour is available for a maximum of 15 people.

The Zunfthaus has generously reserved a private room for us—giving you plenty of space to connect with fellow Democrats Abroad members.
🍺 Your first beverage is on us! After that, feel free to order from their full menu and pay for whatever you enjoy.

All proceeds from this event will help jumpstart our 2026 fundraising efforts—reaching U.S. citizens across Germany and ensuring they can request and return their overseas ballots.

Democrats Abroad Oktoberfest Extravaganza 2025
Don’t miss your chance to grab tickets for the Democrats Abroad Oktoberfest Extravaganza—happening Saturday, September 27! While we help host this event, it is an official Democrats Abroad Germany event and a great opportunity to meet Democrats from around Germany and further afar.

📍 Venue: Festhalle Schottenhamel, Galerie upstairs
🎫 Tickets: €115 — includes a reserved seat, roasted half-chicken (veg option available), 2 liters of Spaten beer, plus a coupon for extras.
