Christina Skovsgaard - Delegate at Large

Name: Christina Skovsgaard
Country: Norway
Gender / Pronouns: Female

Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Christina Skovsgaard is a committed and engaged member of the Democratic Party with 20 years of experience as a volunteer. Becoming a DNC delegate for Democrats Abroad is the capstone of her volunteer experience, rounding out her time as a dedicated contributor.

While volunteering for the Democratic Party in 2008, Skovsgaard attended the convention for Barack Obama. The historic event promoting the first African-American presidential candidate made a lasting impression on her and inspired her to strengthen her contribution to the party.

Skovsgaard, who currently resides in Oslo, Norway now serves as Country Committee Chair for DA Norway. She and her team have worked hard to reach members and build the DA community in and around Oslo. They recently completed their Country Committee CallHub campaign that will be followed by an SMS campaign to all non-battleground state members prior to the global battleground state campaign.

As a delegate, Skovsgaard will aim to grow awareness of the importance of DA. “DA can be the margin of victory. I am excited to meet and network with other committed democrats and support the DA platform.” She is also excited to attend the first convention promoting an African-American and South-Asian American woman.

To get out the vote and bolster support for presumptive nominee Kamala Harris, Skovsgaard and her team have several voter registration events planned, including one organized with the U.S. Embassy. They will continue to carry out social media advertising and reach out to local media to inform locals about voting from abroad and emphasize down ballot voting when possible. Additionally, she will work in Zoom Rooms and Intercom to further reach members, and organize entertaining DA events including pub nights.
