Thanks to all our members who gathered yesterday for our Town Hall, Potluck and Annual General Meeting. It was a lively event with more food than we imagined! 

After meeting one another, we discussed the many ways our Oxford Chapter helps elect Democratic candidates by mobilizing the overseas vote. We shared that Democrats Abroad is a worldwide volunteer organization that is the official Democratic Party arm for the millions of Americans living outside the United States. Locally in Oxford, we hold socials, conduct Get Out the Vote activities especially with the thousands of American students in our city, phonebank Democratic voters overseas, and help our members make their voices heard.

 

We discussed that everyone should complete their Federal Postcard Application form as soon as possible to request ballots for this calendar year at www.votefromabroad.org. Completing this form gives voters the most protection under federal law.

 

In this election year, we especially need volunteers trained on voter registration and people who can help with phonebanking. We also need help with student organizing - if you’re connected to a University, we’d love to hear from you. Donations are vital to enabling Dems Abroad to continue our work.
