On April 26 we celebrated our planet by visiting the Toucan Rescue Ranch in San Isidro de Heredia.

The 2-hour guided tour explored animal stories, wildlife facts, and conservation efforts. 

During the tour 32 members viewed sloths, spider monkeys, felines, toucans, owls, and many other forms of Costa Rican wildlife.                                   

 Afterward, we had a fabulous lunch at the Riverside Pizzeria and Gastropub located on nearby route 32. 

Incidentally, both the owners/managers of the rescue center and the pizzeria are members of Democrats Abroad Costa Rica.
