If you are interested in coming early, extending your stay, or if you have guests who will not be attending the meeting portion below are some extra activities available:

🌊 The Coast of Dreams: Costa dei Trabocchi
The Miramare Resort sits perched on the Costa dei Trabocchi, a stretch of Adriatic coastline famous for its “Trabocchi – ancient, spindly wooden fishing platforms that look like giant spiders walking on water.
The Greenway (Ciclovia dei Trabocchi): Experience the “Greenway”, a world-class cycling and walking path built on the former Adriatic railway line. It offers a flat, breathtaking route directly over the sea.
Active Discovery: We offer easy bike rentals and guided walking tours. Whether you want to dive into the engineering history of these “fishing machines” or simply enjoy a breezy ride with an Adriatic Sunrise/Sunset, the Greenway is an unmissable experience

️️️History & Heritage: The Gustav Line
In the winter of 1943, the Sangro Valley became the focal point of the “Gustav Line”, the site some of the most intense fighting of the WW2 Italian Campaign.

Sacred ground: Visit the “Sangro River Commonwealth War Cemetery, a peaceful final resting place for nearly 2,600 soldiers from across the globe.
The Battle of Ortona: Known as the “Little Stalingrad of Italy”, nearby Ortona offers a visceral look at the Canadian-led urban battle.
The Brigata Majella: For a local prospective, join our historian-guided tours of Civitella Messer Raimondo to learn about the Italian Partisans who fought for liberation alongside Allied forces

🍷 Liquid Gold: The Beautiful Vineyards of Chieti
The Province of Chieti is the powerhouse of Abruzzo’s wine culture. March is the perfect time to visit the “Cantine” as the vineyards begin their spring awakening.
Montepulciano D’Abruzzo: Taste the bold, ruby-red wines that have put this region on the world map.
Stress-Free Tasting: Choose between a self-drive itinerary or – highly recommended – our chauffeur-driven wine tour. Let us handle the narrow Italian roads while you focus on the complex notes of the local Pecorino and Cerasuolo wines

🏰 A Castle of Hidden Gems
Abruzzo is often called “The Green Heart of Europe”. Surrounding the resort are medieval “Borghi” (villages) that feel frozen in time:
Roccascalegna: A gravity-defying castle perched atop a jagged limestone cliff.
San Giovaani in Venere: A 11th century Abbey built on a promontory with breathtaking views over the entire coast.
Fara San Martino: The “Capital of Pasta”, nestled at the foot of the Majella National Park Mountains.
Lanciano: A Medieval town home to the 1st ever recorded Eucharistic Miracle and a stunning medieval historic centre with its narrow
alleys and beautiful architecture

🍝 Master of the Art of Abruzzese Gastronomy
Abruzzo is widely considered one of the best-kept culinary secrets in the world. Its cuisine is traditionally known as “povera” (simple), but rich in flavours and unique soul.
Culinary Workshop: Don’t just eat the food – learn the secrets. Join our “Hands on Pasta Workshop” where you will learn how to make the “Maccheroni alla Chitarra” using traditional tools, followed by a celebratory group lunch
