No Funding for An Unauthorized War!

Take Action Now – No on Supplemental Appropriations for Trump’s Iran War!

Congress’ next major leverage point to stop Trump’s war in Iran is over money. In the coming days, the White House is expected to ask Congress for roughly 50 billion dollars in “emergency” funding to pay for this war.

Analysts estimate the administration is already burning through about 1 billion dollars every single day—money that could instead restore Affordable Care Act premium tax credits and reverse the Medicaid cuts in Trump’s budget. To put the human cost in perspective, we’ve already lost the equivalent of tens of millions of school lunches for kids—before you even count the lives at stake.

Here’s how you can help put pressure on Congress to block new funding for this war:

1. Contact your Representative and Senators today
   • Call or email all three of your Members of Congress and tell them to oppose any “emergency supplemental” funding request for Trump’s war in Iran. Find their contact information here
   • If you vote in a safe blue district, ask your member to publicly commit to voting no and to urge their colleagues to do the same.
   • If you vote in a swing or Republican‑held district, stress that Trump is trying to drag the U.S. into another endless war and that voters are watching.
     
     
2. Use a clear, simple message
   You can adapt this script for calls and emails:
   • “My name is [NAME], I vote in [CITY, STATE, ZIP]. I am an American living and voting from Italy. I am strongly opposed to Trump’s unauthorized war in Iran. Please vote against any supplemental funding request for this war, and instead focus our resources on health care, Medicaid, and support for families at home."
     
     
3. Multiply your impact
   • Forward this email to at least three other U.S. citizens in Italy and ask them to contact their Members of Congress as well.
   • Share your experience (and any responses you get) with Democrats Abroad Italy so we can keep up the pressure and highlight which offices are taking a stand.
