THE POWER OF US! KNOW. UNITE. ACT. TO PROTECT OUR HAITIAN COMMUNITY.

Hosted by: Blackmen's Advocacy Network (Boston/New York);

Democrats Abroad Global Black Caucus -France Chapter.

WHY WE ARE DOING THIS

Temporary Protected Status (TPS) is a humanitarian protection that has allowed eligible Haitians to live and work legally in the United States when conditions in Haiti made safe return extraordinarily difficult. Following the 2026 Supreme Court ruling permitting the federal government to end Haiti's TPS designation, hundreds of thousands of Haitians faced the loss of that protection and, unless they hold another lawful status, the loss of work authorization and increased exposure to removal. In communities such as Boston, the consequences are immediate: families are confronting job loss, possible separation, housing and financial instability, and fear about what comes next; employers and communities are also losing workers in caregiving, healthcare, construction, transportation and other essential fields.

WHY THIS MATTERS TO US

This conversation is about people, not political labels. For American voters and citizens, it is an opportunity to understand what is happening to the Haitian community, hear directly from civic, civil-rights and Haitian community leaders, and consider how we can use our own civic voice responsibly. The goal is to move from awareness to informed, lawful actions supporting affected families, strengthening community resources, and participating in the democratic process according to our own values and judgment.
