Calling U.S. Landlines from Abroad


Now that Skype has shut down its calling service, you don’t have to rely on expensive international rates from mobile phone operators to reach out to legislators back in the States. There are several alternative apps that let you call U.S. landlines and mobile numbers directly from your smartphone — often for a fraction of the cost.

Here are a few we’re testing, with their pros, cons, and current pricing details.
