Yesterday, Democrat Catelin Drey won Iowa’s State Senate District 1 with 55% of the vote—flipping a deeply conservative seat and breaking the GOP’s state supermajority. In a district Trump carried by the double-digits in 2024, voters proved a simple truth: when people show up, change happens.

This victory is proof that every vote—even in the smallest elections—can shift power. Now it’s our turn to keep the momentum going:

• Reach out. Call or email 3 U.S. friends abroad and remind them to register or request their ballot through votefromabroad.org. Local and state elections happen all the time—remind them to show up.
• Create a call-tree - ask your friends to call 3 friends. 
• Make sure you’re registered and have requested your ballot this year. Then vote in every election you can! From school boards to city councils to state reps, every race matters.
