Interested in an Internship in Costa Rica looking after toucans and sloths?

Democrats Abroad held its quadrennial Global Convention and Annual General Meeting in San Jose, Costa Rica this year.  Prior to commencing work on the business of DA, a number of delegates visited the Toucan Rescue Ranch located just outside San Jose and met the most extraordinary people looking after some truly remarkable animals.  The Ranch rescues injured, abandoned and rescued native animals, cares for them and, if possible, returns them to the wild.

These two Costa Rica natives were brought to the sanctuary requiring care but were unable to be re-wilded.  So they have a lovely home at The Ranch helping the staff teach visitors about Costa Rican wildlife.  Toucan Rescue Ranch has an extensive program accepting applications from individuals around the world to volunteer or to do a 4-6 month professional internshipClick here for more information about supporting this most worthy organisation.

Democrats Abroad Costa Rica Chair, Kathy Rothschild, arranged for the delegates to visit the sanctuary and serves on its board.  She can also provide more information.
