The election year 2024 was an incredibly impressive year for DAG appearances in the German media. Print, radio, TV, podcasts, panel discussions, debates, we were everywhere throughout Germany. Also, all over geographically, DAG was well represented in various regions across all of Germany.
Generally, the presidential election years get more press coverage in the US and abroad, including Germany, than other election years.
Four main time periods in 2024 where the German press interest particularly peaked and where we as Democrats Abroad Germany got the most interview requests and coverage was the 1) US Presidential Primary including the DA Global Presidential Primary, 2) Biden ending his campaign and Harris announcing her Candidacy for President on July 21, 2025, 3) DNC and 4) prior to/on/following the election itself.
In numbers:
- Presidential Primary – 12 interviews
- Candidate change – 24 interviews
- DNC – 8 interviews (Possibly more that were not officially reported to me or were organized by the DA Global Press Team.) Mind you, DA had the second most interviews of all states regarding the DNC in Chicago!
- Election Day week – 27 interviews
