Born and raised in the South San Francisco Bay Area, I have lived across the United States (Tucson, AZ, Bellingham, WA, NYC) and the Americas (Argentina, El Salvador, Mexico). A visual anthropologist and filmmaker by training, I’ve worked as a community-based researcher, consultant, and university lecturer since 2016. I'm an award-winning, self-taught poet and write primarily in English and Spanish. 

A lifelong Democrat, I’ve stayed active in U.S. politics from abroad since following a PhD fellowship to Ireland in 2008. In Switzerland, I’ve organized creative community responses to political turning points––from Writers Resist literary events in Zurich and Geneva during the first Trump presidency to public phone-ins urging Congressional action after Charlottesville, and from participatory exhibitions about the human and environmental cost of the US-Mexico border wall to public protests during the Black Lives Matter mobilizations. From 2019 to 2021, I served as Zurich Co-Chair and led coalition building with Invisible and Action Together Zurich. 

I'm a proud Arizona voter, and I look forward to building our Zurich chapter together with our members. Environmental, social, and economic justice; science and the arts; and asylum and migrant rights are central concerns for me. As your co-chair, I’m particularly interested in dynamic educational events, coalition building, and arts-based actions that build community and help us imagine more equitable futures. These concerns drive my commitment to getting out the vote.
