The Annual General Meeting of all members will be held on January 20th at 5:30 pm (SAST) virtually and the meeting shall address the following matters:
- Report by the Regional Vice Chair (Europe, the Middle East, and Africa) on DASA activities and work towards compliance as a Country Committee. This in lieu of the normal approval of previous meeting's minutes, Chair’s report, and Treasurer’s report.
- Announcement of election results for new Executive Committee members for the period 2021-2023
- Consideration of other matters as may properly come before the meeting
Any member of Democrats Abroad South Africa was eligible to submit their candidacy for any of the open positions of the Executive Committee until midnight (SAST) January 6th 2021. The following offices shall have a two-year term: Chair, Vice Chair, Treasurer, Secretary, Counsel, and two Members at Large.
If you would like to participate in this General Meeting and DASA elections, please ensure that you are a member of Democrats Abroad (https://democratsabroad.nationbuilder.com/login) -- you will automatically be assigned to DASA by your residential address and start receiving notices after you join.
To be eligible to hold office, you must be a member of DASA and reside in South Africa.
The link to attend the AGM by videoconference shall be emailed to DA members in DASA (except those who have opted out of receiving email messages from DA). The invitation to the inauguration event will be sent as well.
The official inauguration activities in Washington D.C. commence at 6:45pm SAST (11:45am EST) on January 20th. Every DASA member, friends and other guests are invited to attend the virtual celebration, which is being hosted via Zoom. The link will be made available via email and through the DASA WhatsApp group.
