Defend Free Speech, Demand Answers on Colbert's Cancellation

Stephen Colbert’s Late Show was abruptly shut down after he called out CBS’s parent company for cutting a shady deal with Donald Trump, calling it “a big, fat bribe.” Now, lawmakers and media watchdogs are sounding the alarm about possible political pressure or corporate collusion behind the decision.

We need elected officials to stand up for media freedom and demand accountability from CBS and Paramount.

Call Your Members of Congress Now

Ask them to publicly demand transparency and push for an investigation into CBS/Paramount’s cancellation of The Late Show. If political influence or quid pro quo is involved, we need the truth, and we need consequences.

Hello, my name is [YOUR NAME]. I’m a constituent of [REPRESENTATIVE/SENATOR NAME] who votes in [CITY].

I’m calling to demand that [REP/SENATOR NAME] support efforts to investigate CBS and Paramount’s decision to cancel The Late Show with Stephen Colbert—a decision that came just days after Colbert criticized a financial settlement with Donald Trump.

The timing raises serious questions about political pressure, corporate misconduct, and threats to press freedom.

I ask [REP/SENATOR NAME] to:

    • Publicly call for a full investigation into Paramount and CBS
    • Speak out in defense of Colbert and against any politically motivated censorship
    • Protect the freedom of the press from corporate or partisan manipulation

🗽If You Vote in California or New York 🐻

State Attorneys General have the power to investigate corporate misconduct and protect the public from corruption. The Writers Guild of America has asked both states to launch formal probes into whether Paramount engaged in illegal behavior.
