How can you help make a difference in U.S. politics and elections in 2026? Below are 6 types of volunteer activities (with links) you can do!
1. Make sure you are registered to vote and all your friends and family are too! If you have any questions about your voter registration status, you can check Vote from Abroad for details on how to follow up with your state and then your local election office.
2. If you are keen to circulate information about Vote from Abroad in your area, we have text to use in social media posts and on websites like Neighbourly as well as materials, flyers, and cards we can mail to you to hand out or poster with. Just email us here.
3. Democrats Abroad Global has a DA Resists! Take Action newsletter, for which you can sign up on the DA website at this link.
4. Join Democrats Abroad for phone banking, calling and reminding DA members around the world to vote. The calls are free to make and you are only calling people who have signed up for calls. DA Global runs training sessions and has lots of materials, including scripts, to help with this. Here’s the link for more information.
5. Take part in Zoom the Vote. This requires Voter Assistance training which you can get here and allows you to join a Zoom with other DA volunteers to help voters on a one-to-one basis deal with requirements in their states. Once you get the training, if you want to take part in our own Zoom the Vote for NZ voters, please email us here.
6. Democrats Abroad has caucuses you can join as well as a few state teams you can join if you want help with a particular set of issue or voters in your state.
