Call for DA Canada Board Candidates!


The Democrats Abroad Canada Board is looking for you! 

The DA Canada Nominations & Elections Committee (NEC) is seeking nominations for officers to serve for a 2022-2023 term:

  • Country Chair/DPCA Voting Representative
  • Executive Vice Chair/DPCA Voting Representative
  • Two (2) Vice Chairs/DPCA Voting Representatives
  • Programs and Events Manager/DPCA Voting Representative
  • Two (2) Alternate Voting Representatives

The Executive Vice Chair elected shall be a member who is of differing gender to the Chair, as per the Democrats Abroad Charter & DA Canada Bylaws, and the rules of the Democratic National Committee (DNC).

As per the Democrats Abroad Charter, DPCA Voting Representatives and Alternate Voting Representatives shall be elected in accordance with the gender balance rules of Democrats Abroad.

DA Canada leaders work with our regional chapters and the global Democrats Abroad movement to win elections for Democrats. We find US citizens and help them register to vote, support Americans requesting and returning ballots, and advocate for the concerns of Americans living outside the country. With the midterms fast approaching, we're looking for leaders excited to prove that Americans in Canada can make the difference in key races.

Nominations open February 25, 2022 and will close at 11:59 PM ET, Wednesday, March 16, 2022. 

You have 3 options for submitting a nomination.

  • Submit a nomination via email to [email protected].
  • You can also mail your nomination(s) to:  DACA Nominations, c/o D Stampley, 42 Major St, Toronto, ON M5S2L1. Postal submissions must be received by 11:59 PM ET, Wednesday, March 16, 2022.

To comply with the Democrats Abroad Charter please indicate in the nomination if the nominee is male, female, or non-binary.

An accompanying statement of up to 300 words supporting your nominee, or yourself if you are self-nominating, is requested.  It needs to describe skills and experience pertinent to the position (or office) for which you or your nominee is running. A nominee must be a Democrats Abroad Canada member, a US citizen, a resident within the boundaries of the Democrats Abroad Canada chapter, and willing and able to handle duties while adhering to the principles of the Democratic Party of the United States. A nominee must give their consent to stand for election.

Diversity and Inclusion are important values of the Democratic Party of the United States and Democrats Abroad and shall be prioritized in Democrats Abroad Canada’s activities in a manner that is consistent with the United States Democratic Party’s commitment to include and represent constituency groups, including but not limited to those historically under-represented in the Democratic Party’s affairs by virtue of gender, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, ability, race, ethnicity or other identities.

Candidates can run for more than one position. A single candidate statement is permitted/invited.
