EMEA Region Non-Country Committee (NCC)
Resource Page
Welcome!
Welcome to the home of the EMEA Non-Country Committees (NCCs), where communities come together, leaders emerge, and Democrats abroad make a difference.
While these countries may not yet have a formal Country or Transnational Committee, they are making a real difference. Across the EMEA region, NCCs have dedicated volunteers that are building vibrant local communities, connecting members, and laying the foundation for strong, sustainable committees for years to come.
These emerging committees are also at the heart of our Get Out the Vote (GOTV) efforts. By engaging voters, recruiting volunteers, and providing essential resources and support, they help ensure that every eligible Democrat abroad has the opportunity to make their voice heard.

EMEA NCC Voting Representative
A key part of this structure is the EMEA NCC Voting Representative, who supports and advocates for Non-Country Committees across the region. This representative plays an essential role in ensuring that NCCs are represented in regional decision-making and that their perspectives are included in broader EMEA and Global DA discussions.
The Voting Representative helps to:
- Help identify opportunities for growth, collaboration, and community development
- Support coordination of voter engagement and organizing efforts across NCC
- Advocate for resources, support, and recognition for emerging committees
- Represent NCC interests in EMEA leadership conversations and votes
The EMEA NCC Voting Representative is Bahareh Azizi, who, since taking on the role in April 2025, has been working closely with members across the region to strengthen local community-building, support Get Out the Vote (GOTV) efforts, and provide the tools and resources needed to foster the development of emerging committees. Through this work, she continues to help connect NCCs across EMEA, amplify their voices, and support the long-term growth of organized, active, and engaged communities.

Voting from Abroad
To learn how you can register to vote, please visit the "How to Vote from Abroad in 2026: For Countries Without DA Committees" website. As a U.S. citizen living overseas, registering as an overseas voter under the Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act (UOCAVA) gives you important rights and protections that go beyond those available to voters who register as standard absentee voters through their state systems.

To ensure your voter registration and ballot request remain active, Democrats Abroad strongly recommends that overseas voters re-register and request their ballot every calendar year, starting January 1. This simple step helps ensure there are no disruptions in receiving your ballot when it matters most.
Take time to review the available voting information and helpful tips, including guidance on the easiest, most affordable, and most reliable ways to return your completed ballot from wherever you are in the world. Then visit VoteFromAbroad.org to register and request your ballot (or scan the QR code).
Need help? Support is available every step of the way. Voter assistance is accessible throughout the entire process at [email protected]. Whether you have a question, need guidance, or run into a challenge, dedicated support is just an email away.
Within the EMEA region, our GOTV Coordinator, Ada Shen, is also available to provide voter registration assistance. You can reach Ada directly.
If you're interested in becoming more involved with Voter Assistance Training and opportunities to participate in Phone Banking and other Get-Out-The-Vote (GOTV) efforts, both globally and within your local country committees, please visit How to Get Trained.
Volunteer and Make a Difference
Democrats Abroad thrives because of the passion, expertise, and dedication of volunteers around the world. Whether you're interested in voter assistance, outreach, communications, event planning, technology, graphic design, or another area of expertise, there are opportunities to contribute at the global level.
If you have skills, talents, or interests you'd like to share, we'd love to hear from you. Please contact Bahareh and she will reach out and help get you involved in our amazing community of talented volunteers.
Beyond the Region
No matter where you live, you are welcome to participate in the broader Democrats Abroad community.
Global events, and many country-level events, are open to all members. Visit Democrats Abroad regularly to explore upcoming meetings, discussions, trainings, and special events.
You can also join one of DA’s many member groups, including caucuses, task forces, take action, and other groups. These communities offer opportunities to connect with fellow Americans abroad, advocate for causes you care about, and make your voice heard. For more information on these, please visit How to Get Involved Page.
