Last night, Trump spewed claims of election fraud and called for the passage of the SAVE Act in a speech that attacked every eligible voter’s right to vote. Democrats Abroad is pushing back with a multi-pronged campaign designed to support the 6.5 million eligible voters abroad.
“We know that helping U.S. citizens abroad register, request their ballots, and send their votes back home is crucial for fighting back against this obvious voter intimidation. And Democrats Abroad is not just registering voters, we’re also participating in litigation to protect our votes, and pushing back against terrible bills like SAVE,” said Martha McDevitt-Pugh, Democrats Abroad’s International Chair.
Democrats Abroad is currently running a global campaign to encourage U.S. citizens abroad to register as overseas voters and to request to receive their ballots by email. These two protections are particularly important this year with the Republican attack on mail-in ballots.
HERE’S HOW WE FIGHT BACK
-
Request your ballot. We encourage every eligible voter to register and vote. And we strongly encourage voters living abroad to protect themselves from Donald Trump’s weaponized U.S. Postal Service by going to votefromabroad.org and requesting to receive their ballot by email.
-
Tell your Senator to stop the SAVE Act. MAGA continues to push an anti-voter bill that will make it easier to close polling places that serve black voters, disqualify female voters whose last name does not match their birth certificate, and force students who vote by mail to cast their ballot several days ahead of those who vote in person. Democrats are fighting and winning court cases state by state to keep your ballot safe.
