Freeze Out ICE Funding

Feb 4 Update: The appropriations bill to fund DHS and ICE has now returned to the Senate to be voted on no later than February 13th. Call your senators now and demand they defund ICE or substantially restrict it! As Senator Warren says: "We have a chance to rein in ICE, but its going to take ALL of us on the front line."

***********************

The U.S. House has now passed the funding package that includes a two week Continuing Resolution (CR) for DHS funding as well. This gives the Senate time to debate and potentially amend the DHS funding package.

This vote gives the American people and Congress a chance to take back our streets from an abusive agency that is terrorizing our country, murdering individuals, and harming countless families and communities.

Congress must not pass any DHS appropriations bill that continues funding ICE without significant restrictions to its behavior.

Take Action Now

📞 Call your members of Congress today. Demand that they block DHS funding unless ICE is fully defunded.

What Dem Leaders are Saying

“Congress cannot keep writing blank checks to an agency that repeatedly violates the law and actively harms its own citizens,” said Congressman Moulton. “ICE has shown over and over again that it cannot be trusted to follow the law and protect the American people. Until ICE stops harming—and in some cases, killing—U.S. citizens and others in its custody, Congress should not spend another federal dollar on this agency. Our power of the purse is one of the only tools we have left to force accountability, and we need to use it.”
- Congressman Seth Moulton (MA-06)

“ICE is a rogue agency that Donald Trump is deploying to terrorize communities. We must not approve any additional funding for this Trump militia force that has lost the trust, credibility, and legitimacy in the eyes of the American public. Instead, we need accountability in place for ICE’s abuses, including the assault and murder of people on city streets and in detention facilities. I urge our appropriators to hold ICE and Donald Trump accountable for their crimes.”
- Congresswoman Yassamin Ansari (AZ-03)

“ICE officers are being incentivized to make more arrests, even if the folks they’re detaining are here legally and are later released without any charges. I’m not going to vote for a spending bill that continues this system and puts Americans in danger.”
- Congresswoman Zoe Lofgren (CA-18)

“I am not going to cast a vote, not one dime, to support this lawless, brutal Trump ICE operation unless there are significant reforms …  I don't foresee this administration doing that at this moment. So, I'm saying I won't provide any funding.
- Senator Chris Van Hollen (D-MD)
