    Grenoble chapter elections

Voting in the Grenoble chapter elections will take place both in person on March 6th, and online for five days before (keep an eye on your inbox for info. on how to vote online!)

There is still time to run for a leadership position! We've got a great little group of core volunteers that we'd love to add YOU to.  We are looking for candidates for the following positions to serve from March 2023 - March 2025:

Chair: The Grenoble chapter chair leads the chapter, sets agendas and leads meetings. They participate as a voting member of DA France’s National Executive Committee, and are responsible for monthly chapter reports. The chapter chair attends the monthly DAF Excom meetings and monthly chapter/caucus meetings. If you want to run the Grenoble show, run for Chair!

Vice Chair: The Vice Chair assists the Chair, and the duties of the Chair may be shared with the Vice Chair, for example the vice chair may replace the Chair at an Excom or chapter/caucus meeting from time to time, or do other duties such as sending out e-mails to the chapter via the platform Democrats Abroad uses. If you want to help the chapter chair any way you can, run for this!

Secretary: The Secretary takes notes during meetings and events and writes up a short monthly chapter report, with or without photos, for the Chair to share at the monthly meeting when reports are given. If you like to write, run for this important role!

Treasurer: The Treasurer manages the chapter finances and can lead the chapter with fundraising which has not been done much in our chapter. If you like numbers and/or the challenge of fundraising, run for this position!

Communications Officer: The Comms Officer is responsible for helping to write up communications with members as well as managing the social media of the chapter. Is social media and marketing your thing? Run for this! You’ll be in contact with the national comms team who give excellent support.

GOTV Coordinator: The Get Out The Vote (GOTV) Coordinator is responsible for organizing the local voter registration activities. Is activism and GOTV your thing? Run for this!

Members at Large: Members at large are volunteers who attend meetings and might choose a specific task to work on or help other officers with their work. Want to volunteer and have special interests or general interests? Run for this!

Candidates must be members of Democrats Abroad France, US citizens 18 years or older, living in the Grenoble chapter area (Isère, Savoie, Haute Savoie), and able to serve a full term of two years. Every eligible member with interest, ability, conviction and ideas is encouraged to run. Previous organizing experience is welcome but not necessary.

To run for election: You may nominate yourself by declaring your candidacy, or you may be nominated by someone else. You may also nominate another person for a position. To declare your candidacy or make a nomination, please email the Elections Board at: [email protected]

Candidates must submit a candidate’s statement (no more than 200 words). If you are nominating another person, please put that person on copy of your email.

The deadline for submitting candidacies is Saturday, February 4, 2023. Candidates should be prepared to attend the elections on March 6th, 2023 and to say a few words.

For more information, please contact the Elections Board at [email protected]
