DA Guyana's Nominations and Election Committee is pleased to announce the candidates for the 2023-2025 DA Guyana Executive Committee officers. See Candidates' Statements below: 

 

Voting is now open for DAGY members residing in Guyana prior to June 14. Voting is via electronic ballot (no in-person voting). Election results will be announced at the start of the Annual General Meeting on June 28th at 7PM ET.

Deadline for voting: June 27 11:59pm EDT

We look forward to continuing our work together under our newly elected leadership team as they begin by hosting our 2023 Annual General Meeting immediately following the brief Elections Meeting at 7pm. During the meeting, members will have the opportunity to hear from our Executive Committee with reports on our activities, funding, and membership to date - plus plans for developing DA Guyana's agenda for the 2023- 2024 cycle.

Our special guest speaker is Marcia Johnson of the Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights where she is Co-Director of the Voting Rights Project. She will be speaking to us on the importance preparing for the 2024 elections.

In addition to Co-Directing the Voting Rights Project, Ms. Johnson also coordinates the Lawyers' Committee’s international human rights initiatives, including monitoring U.S. compliance with its treaty obligations under the Convention for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights.
