Dr. Dawn Stewart has been a member of the Democratic party since shortly after receiving her US Citizenship in 1972. She votes in the state of Virginia and has worked through various election cycles mobilizing the Caribbean-American Vote. Dawn has been persistent in organizing the formation of the Democrats Abroad Guyana Country Committee.
Dawn has proudly served as a member of the US Air Force and has enjoyed a rich and diversified career working in federal, local, nonprofit, and educational settings. She serves as CEO for New Dawn consulting LLC and co-manages Lyken Newburg Funeral home.
Dawn has organized several endeavors such as Caribbean Days on Capitol Hill, National Caribbean HIV/AIDS Day, and Soca De Vote; and assisted in the forging of the passage of the National Caribbean Heritage Month.
As a well-respected leader, Dawn participated in legislative forums addressing various issues that led to many initiatives and the establishment of special projects that empower marginalized Caribbean communities both nationally and internationally. Dawn is prepared and well equipped to serve as Chair of Democrats Abroad Guyana.

Lawrence London, or Larry as he is familiarly called, has been a registered Democrat since 1992, and has worked in election campaigns since then in Florida. Larry is a retired aviation professional, in both operations and administration. Here in Guyana, Larry was presented with the national Golden Arrow of Achievement (AA) award. The Guyana Defense Force also named its aviation base, Air Station London, in honor of Lt. Col. London.
Larry is passionate and committed to the struggle for “voters’ rights” and equality for every American. Larry is ready and able to act in the position of Vice-Chairman.

Mark Anthony Archer is a Guyanese - American writer and life-long member of the Democratic Party. He served as Director of Communications in the office of the President of Guyana, 2015-2020. Mark was awarded the Golden Arrow of Achievement (AA), by the government of Guyana, for his exceptional service in the field of public information. Mark worked on the 2008 Obama Campaign and is passionate about protecting voting rights for minorities, and advocating for social justice and human rights.
With over four decades of political advocacy and community work, Mark is well prepared and ready to contribute his extensive expertise to Democrats Abroad Guyana’s Executive Committee as Secretary.
Fitzroy David Corlette
Candidate for Treasurer

Fitzroy David Corlette is a Guyanese - American Accountant. He has been a registered Democrat since 1992. He is the holder of an MSc Education and BBA Accounting from Baruch College in New York.
Fitzroy was actively involved in Democratic Party politics in Queens, New York during the 1990’s. An activist and student of politics, Fitzroy worked as the Finance Director for the David Granger 2011 and 2015 Presidential Campaigns in Guyana, and continues to manage the finances for A Partnership for National Unity (APNU).
From 2015 - 2018 Fitzroy served as a Deputy Commissioner in charge of Law Enforcement at the Guyana Revenue Authority. As an Accountant for several decades, he taught Accounting at the Dekalb Technical College in Georgia for seventeen years.
Fitzroy is qualified and ready to bring his expertise to the position of Treasurer for Democrats Abroad Guyana.
DA Guyana is a fully formed and operating DA committee of under 150 members, hence, called a "Committee-in Formation" as we build our membership.
We are located in the north-east of South America, bordering the North Atlantic Ocean. A former British colony, Guyana is the only English-speaking country in South America.
Guyana is a continental country with a Caribbean culture. We share a post-colonial history with the English-speaking Caribbean, but we are not a Caribbean Island.
Guyana is an oil producing nation with over 9 billion barrels of oil reserves; over 3000 Americans and their dependents are working in the Petroleum industry in Guyana.

DA Guyana looks forward to continuing our work together under its leadership team as they host DAGY's 2022 Annual General Meeting with Black Voters Matter, Sunday, June 26 at 7PM ET.

In addition, we will have Mr. Jerald (Cliff) Albright, Co-Founder of Black Voters Matter Fund as our special guest speaker. He will lead a special presentation on The Importance of Voting in the 2022 Election.

The DA Taxation Task Force is hosting this volunteer information session to explain what's involved in being a volunteer and to answer any questions you might have about volunteering. Click here for an outline of volunteering opportunities for the TTF.
The DA TTF is a group of dedicated volunteers working towards fixing the tax code for Americans living abroad.
We have a number of volunteer positions available, from people with no experience who want to help out with social media, to subject matter experts that can help us lobby Congress - everyone and anyone is welcome to contribute!
Once you attend the info session, we encourage you to complete this application to the best of your ability. You will then be invited to a follow-up one-to-one 30 minute Zoom call to figure out which teams you fit into and to get you started.
