NEW HAMPSHIRE IS HOLDING ITS DEMOCRATIC PRIMARY ON SEPT 13 – MAKE SURE YOUR VOICE IS HEARD!
What elections are there in New Hampshire? What am I voting for?
New Hampshire will hold a Democratic Primary on Sept 13 for US Representatives and US Senate as well as Governor and your State Representatives and State Senators.
The winners of these Democratic primary races will go up against the Republicans in the November 8, 2022 General Election.
All New Hampshire overseas voters can vote in these crucial races.
Maggie Hassan is running unopposed in the Democratic Primary for US Senate, but this is a crucial seat and she’s going to face a tough race against the Republican nominee in November. A big turnout in the Primary will help galvanize support for the November General election.
And please vote your full ballot – New Hampshire state elections are hugely important! State government is responsible for voting and state policies regarding climate change, education, health insurance, net neutrality, student loans, and more affect us no matter where we go around the world.
Note: If you’re an overseas voter who’s never resided in New Hampshire, you may vote for your US Representative and US Senator, but you aren’t eligible to vote in New Hampshire state elections.
1) Register to Vote and Request Your Ballot Today
It's easy to request your ballot. And your ballot request covers all elections in 2022, so send the form in now and ensure your ballot for the Sept 13th Primary and for the November 8th General election.
Go to www.votefromabroad.org and follow the prompts to fill out the form to request your ballot, the Federal Post Card Application form (FPCA). (If needed, it will also serve as a voter registration.) To ensure you receive your ballot in time, please check the box on the FPCA to have your blank ballot sent to you by “Email/Online” or “Fax”.
To vote in New Hampshire’s Democratic Primary, you must also specify “Democratic” as your political party.
You can send in your FPCA to your local election office in New Hampshire by email (recommended) or fax or mail.

If you are registered to vote, you MUST still send in an FPCA to request your ballot in 2022 to vote in this election. To receive a ballot by email, your FPCA must be received by Sept 12, at 5pm.
- If you are NOT registered to vote, your FPCA must be received by Sept 13.
If you don’t intend to vote in the Primary, then to vote in the November 8 General election, your FPCA must be received by November 7, at 5pm. (If you’re not yet registered to vote, then your FPCA must be received by November 8.)

2) When You Get Your Ballot for the September 13 Primary Election, Fill It Out and Send It Back Right Away
Ballots for the Primary started going out on July 30, 2022. If you asked for your ballot by email, be sure to check your spam folder and any secondary inboxes.
When you get your ballot, fill it out and send it back right away. It must be returned by mail.
Your voted ballot must be received in New Hampshire by Sept 13, at 5pm New Hampshire time.

3) No Ballot Yet? Backup Ballots Are Available NOW
If you don’t have your ballot yet, you can send in a Backup Ballot now.
The Backup Ballot (the Federal Write-in Absentee Ballot, or FWAB) is only for overseas voters and protects your right to vote in case your official ballot doesn't arrive in time. For detailed information how to use the Backup Ballot, please click here
When you use the Backup Ballot, the website will indicate the candidates for US Senate, and the candidates for US House in your Congressional District. Then follow the instructions to mail it back like your regular ballot.
4) Confirm That Your Ballot Was Accepted and Counted
After you send in your ballot, make sure your vote is counted!
