Election post mortem: The road to 2024

Amid media reports of an impending red wave, the election produced what one late-night host called a "pink trickle" instead. The Republicans control the House, but by the thinnest possible majority. The Democrats retain the Senate and, depending how the Georgia runoff goes on 6 December, may increase their lead, giving them significantly greater control over committee assignments.

What went right? What went wrong? What are the right and the wrong lessons to learn? Who should take over as party leader in the House, now that Nancy Pelosi -- one of the most effective speakers of the past century -- has stepped down?

We're asking everyone who wants to share their thoughts for five minutes or so, after which we will open to general discussion. Join us 18.00 Tuesday 29 November either in person at John Scott's Linné in Göteborg, near Järntorget, or online via WebEx.

Show up at John Scott's Linné, maybe grab yourself some food or beer before joining us in the meeting room up one flight of stairs, in the back; otherwise join online via WebEx at the link below.
