📋 Check the Status of Your Ballot Request
After submitting your FPCA, follow up to confirm it was received and that your ballot is on its way.
- Email or call your Local Election Official (LEO) to confirm they received your FPCA and will be sending you a blank ballot
- Find your LEO's contact info at votefromabroad.org/states — select your state, then scroll down to "Find Your Election Office"
- By law, states must send overseas ballots at least 45 days before the election
- Check your spam or junk folder if you requested your ballot by email
- You can submit a new ballot request at any time at votefromabroad.org

- Check your spam or junk folder
- Email or call your Local Election Official — find their contact info at votefromabroad.org/states (select your state, scroll down to "Find Your Election Office")
- Submit a new ballot request at votefromabroad.org
- If you are running short on time, send a backup ballot (FWAB) — see below
⚠️ Send a Backup Ballot (FWAB) — We Strongly Recommend This
The Trump administration has taken steps to interfere with mail-in ballot delivery. Given this risk, sending a Federal Write-In Absentee Ballot (FWAB) as a backup is a simple, legal precaution that could ensure your vote is counted.
Federal law is clear:
- Sending a FWAB is not double voting
- If only your FWAB arrives in time, it will be counted
- If your official ballot also arrives in time, only your official ballot will be counted
- You lose nothing by sending both — and you may save your vote
Check whether your state allows email, fax, or online ballot return — or requires postal mail only.
