The picture hasn't changed much in Springfield over these past few months. Neither has the gang violence and 'failed state' in Haiti. Those trying to help are doing what they can. And they're calling on Gov. DeWine to extend his support.

ICE Still Deporting from Akron Airport

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine isn't anticipating a surge of immigration enforcement as the TPS for Haitian immigrants expires, and he isn't aware of any federal plans. Still, the Akron-Canton Airport continues to host deportation flights for ICE-affiliated charters.

Maryland Democratic U.S. Sen. Chris Van Hollen Wednesday tried to advance in the Senate a bill that would create a legal pathway for immigrants with Temporary Protected Status. His request was blocked by Missouri Republican U.S. Sen. Eric Schmitt.
