Paris has always seduced American photographers. This September, Ithaque Gallery — one of the Marais' finest black-and-white photography spaces — becomes the setting for Le Regard Américain, a landmark group exhibition featuring American photographers who chose Paris, stayed, and have spent their careers looking at this city from the inside out.
ABOUT THE EXHIBITION We invited celebrated and emerging American photographers living in France to donate framed, exhibition-quality works for a silent auction. Our confirmed lineup includes Ralph Gibson — one of the most influential American photographers of the last half century — and French-American photojournalist Peter Turnley, whose work has taken him to over 90 countries, alongside newly discovered talent based in Paris. All proceeds fund voter registration, outreach, and mobilization ahead of the 2026 primaries and general election. The overseas American vote has decided races in Georgia, Wisconsin, and Arizona. This is where that work happens.

Why Your Support Matters:
Democrats Abroad represents six million Americans across 190 countries and six continents. In 2024 alone, our volunteers answered over 35,000 voter inquiries. Republicans currently hold the House by just a handful of seats. In Pennsylvania, Iowa, and New Jersey, the margins that will decide those seats are measured in the hundreds. Your ticket — at any level — funds the infrastructure that works those margins.
