Le Regard Américain - Fundraiser & Photography Exhibition - Democrats Abroad France

Join us for an unforgettable evening in the Marais at Gallery Ithaque, where we celebrate the artistic contributions of American photographers residing in France, while raising vital funds for our get-out-the-vote efforts.

This special event will feature a captivating exhibition of photography, showcasing the unique perspectives of known and aspiring American artists inspired by the vibrant life of the city.

The connection between Americans and France is deeply rooted in political and cultural history. The relationship has flourished through the exchange of ideas, art, and literature. French philosophy and literature have profoundly influenced American thinkers, shaping democratic ideals and social movements. In turn, American art and music have found a receptive audience in France, particularly in Paris, which has historically been a haven for American expatriates and artists. This enduring collaboration reflects a shared commitment to liberty, creativity, and mutual respect.

* Ticket required for entry to opening night party; includes glass of wine plus access to the silent auction.

* All funds support our efforts to help US citizens in France register and vote.

Gallery Ithaque Founder and Photographer:

We are proud to highlight Alexandre Arminjon, a French-Swiss photographer and founder of Gallery Ithaque. Since 2013, he has made significant contributions to photography, including acclaimed exhibitions at the Bibliothèque nationale de France and the French National Assembly. His commitment to analog photography and artistic expression makes him an ideal host for this event.

Exhibition & Auction:

We are honored to present works from talented photographers who will each donate their work.

The photographs will be displayed throughout the gallery, allowing guests to immerse themselves in artistic interpretations of Parisian life. Ithaque is a white cube gallery dedicated to black and white photography primarily but also other mediums. A silent auction will be held during the exhibition, with all proceeds supporting the initiatives of Democrats Abroad in engaging and mobilizing American voters abroad.

Why Your Support Matters:

Democrats Abroad represents 190 countries across six continents, assisting voters at global and local levels. In 2024, our country committees organized thousands of voter support and registration events, responding to over 35,000 voter inquiries. The votes of Americans abroad can make a significant difference, as seen in key races during the last election cycle.
