California Prop 50 - Fight Fire With Fire and Vote!

CALIFORNIA VOTERS IN SOUTH AFRICA (and all of us!)

My name is Tiffany Jackson-Zunker and I am a California voter who has lived in South Africa for 20 years. In that time I have voted in every state, local and federal election. We are lucky as California voters. Our state makes it easy to vote. Fill out, sign, and print a few documents, then fax them to your respective elections office. Or mail them via the Consulate (2025 deadline has passed) or DHL, if you like, but faxing will be quickest!

This is a breeze compared to some states.

And, as California voters, we all recognize the importance of the November 4 special election: Fight fire with fire. CA voters abroad can vote on Proposition 50 as well as any other state and local elections in your area.

Proposition 50 must pass. California is proving a leader in pushing back against the President and the Republican party’s shameless power grab. Find out more about the special election here: https://www.sf.gov/november-4-2025-statewide-special-election

Our governor Gavin Newsom is jumping in the ring with the DON and confronting his undemocratic actions head on. The President wants to redraw congressional district lines ahead of the mid-term elections to secure control of congress and has pressured governors of red states to do his bidding.

The special election will allow California to change its congressional district maps just as the President has instructed Texas (and other states) to illegally do.

Only Newsom is putting this proposed action to the voters.

California is already sending out ballots via email to registered overseas voters. If you have not done so, please send through your Voter Registration and Absentee Ballot Request. You can access it easily from www.VoteFromAbroad.org  if you have not already done so.

Check your email for your ballot and return it ASAP by fax.

Let’s contribute to California’s continued role as a leader, unafraid, and committed to  democratic principles.

You can find detailed information in DASA’s How to Vote from South Africa 2025  Here are some fax services you can use to send your ballot:

Online Fax options: HelloFax, FaxZero, eFax, or FaxPlus

Fax applications: CocoFax, RingCentral, GeniusFax, iFax, and WiseFax

Please pass this info on to other CA voters in SA and beyond, and encourage them to vote.

Thank you - Tiffany

Attention all California Voters in South Africa: Proposition 50 is the ONLY thing on the ballot on November 4.  And it MUST PASS. It is designed to redistrict and capture five new democratic seats. This is a direct counter punch to the president’s illegal redistricting in Texas ahead of the 2030 census. A true act of resistance is your vote.

Important dates to remember:

·      Your ballot must be postmarked or date-stamped on or before Election Day, November 4, 2025, and received by the Department of Elections by November 11, 2025.

o   Courier or fax ballot

§  Only CA voters registered as overseas voters (Military / Civilian Overseas Voters, or UOCAVA voters) can receive their ballot by email and return their ballot by fax.

·      October 20, 2025 – Last day to register to vote. Still Need to register? Visit www.VotefromAbroad.org

·      November 4, 2025 20:00 PST - Last moment to return your ballot by fax!  Your ballot must be received by the Department of Elections no later than this time. (Don’t be that voter, vote now!)
